Meet Penn Wynne's newest volunteer firefighter, attorney Brad Remick. At the age of 44, Brad felt the need to serve his community as a volunteer firefighter.
Born in Lower Merion Township, Brad is a graduate of Belmont Hills Elementary School, Welsh Valley Middle School and Harriton High School. With the exception of his four years at Kenyon College in Ohio, Brad has lived in Lower Merion his entire life. When not fighting fires, Brad practices law in Philadelphia with Marshall, Dennehey, Warner Coleman & Goggin, where he has been for nearly 20 years. Brad is an avid photographer, struggling hockey player and a retired runner.
Brad's recent certification as a firefigher is a significant achievment. Indeed, he is the first firefighter from Penn Wynne's Fire Company to meet the state's recent 166 hour training requirement which features a combination of classroom and in-the-field training followed by written and practical examinations. The examinations included questioning on fire-ground support, search and rescue, truck operations, firefighter survival, exterior firefighting, interior firefighting, CPR and first aid.
Pointing out that he was the oldest person in his class (even older than many of his instructors), and more than 25 years older than his fellow students, Brad commented, "It's never too late to join up and serve the community."
Brad lives on Yarmouth Road wtih his wife Hiliary and sons Hayden & Griffin.
